Quick update to the SimpleSlug tutorial, it's been outdated for some time. You'll now be using Avisynth 2.6 and AVFS 1.0.0.6 if you follow along, and I fixed a few broken links while I was in there, so with any luck people won't be steered wrong as often as they've likely been for the past few months.

I've also added Cochlear Avulsion to the Quake map page, so if that kind of thing interests you go take a look!

Finally got around to an update! More to come at some point, that SimpleSlug tutorial is a little crusty in a couple spots, but for now I've added a couple maps to the HL2 collection, added a Quake page with my first release for that game, and reworked the navbar to accommodate all of it. Looks good from here, hopefully it won't break too soon or too disastrously.

Also spruced up the news posts while I was at it. "Just use Wordpress, you dolt!" I hear you scream. "No!" I harumph.

So close! If I hadn't gotten the itch to spiffy up the site this weekend I'd have gone all of 2014 without any updates. Oh, well, there's always next year.

The handful of you my stats tell me visit on mobile devices should have an easier time making use of the site now. Over the next few days I'll be making some more tweaks, and adding a few pages, but in the meantime I wanted to get my swanky new buttons up so you could all play with them. All sixteen of you.

Can't say enough good things about PPWIZARD! It's an HTML preprocessor that let me consolidate my navigation bar markup, along with some other things, without needing to play with server side includes or set up a local PHP environment. Good stuff, and a lot less involved to get into than other preprocessors I've seen.

Between that, the simple CSS changes, and a Git repository, I've got a simple, easy to maintain website that doesn't look like trash but still works on even stone age browsers. Oh happy day.

A new stylesheet for even more pleasant viewing, an update to SimpleSlugUpscale to fix a stupid regression that affected box modes for input clips with no audio, and an as-yet-not-hosted-here utility called HueZoo that allows you to generate HSL/HSV plots as custom size PNGs. When it rains it pours.

TurnsTile's been updated to version 0.3.2, a bug fix that's been a long time coming. It's been over a year since I last updated this thing, and my poor version control practices are no small part of why; now that VertAlert has given me some practice with Git, I'm redoing the repository for TurnsTile. Before I get too far into that I thought I should fix the combination of interlaced input with a tilesheet, which has apparently been broken all this time. Goes to show how popular my plugin is, I suppose.

Now that I've got a fixed release up, I'll be diving right into work on the next major release. The code for Avx and Vapoursynth support already exists for the most part, and I'll be adding those to the new repo piece by piece. You're welcome to visit GitHub to keep track of the project: https://github.com/ItEndsWithTens/TurnsTile

A new version of VertAlert is now available, adding the snaplo and snaphi parameters, to allow for custom rounding both above and below the threshold. A new test map is included with the source archive that demonstrates their use.

Happy New Year, naked weirdos! Fixed a major bug in VertAlert, got the project set up on GitHub, and fixed the download link for the 0.2.0 source code.

Boom, I'm a Rabbi. New VertAlert, now with a threshold option, as suggested by obstipator over on SA. Also threw in a *nix shebang line and refactored some code. If you write Python and don't know about flake8, pychecker, or pylint, do yourself the favor and go hunt them down (easy_install is the way to go).

Another update! When it rains, it pours. If anyone out there works with Source engine maps, and is dealing with brushes whose vertices occasionally pop slightly off the grid on file open in Hammer, try out VertAlert, a little Python utility I threw together this week. Standalone versions are available, and I've tested both the program and script in Windows, Linux, and OS X.

In other news, the next release of TurnsTile is in the works, supporting Avxsynth and Vapoursynth in addition to Avisynth. Keep an eye out, it'll be here sooner or later. Though I'd bank on the latter.

Trying a slightly different color scheme for a while; I still prefer light on dark, but I think lower contrast looks nicer. Hope you like it as much as I do.

Monday, December 26th, 2011

SimpleSlugUpscale 1.12 is now available, just a small update to fix missing audio in 'box' modes and correct the way I checked for the thread count in my try...catch block.

Saturday, October 22nd, 2011

New plugin! CMVSource lets you load Dwarf Fortress movies directly into an Avisynth script. Go take a look, and have fun. I demand it.

Wednesday, September 21st, 2011

New TurnsTile up, just a quick adjustment to remove the SSE/SSE2 requirement and the Visual C++ CRT dependency.

Friday, May 6th, 2011

I hope somebody has fun with TurnsTile 0.3.0, now featuring "CLUTer", a function to let you apply whatever set of colors you like to your input clips. It, along with the new TurnsTile, supports all four Avisynth 2.5.x colorspaces.

Updated the upscaling tutorial to point at the QTGMC thread on Doom9; makes the whole process simpler, since -Vit- has now packaged up all the plugins required to use his script. It also prevents me from trying to maintain the proper version of all those plugins only to end up being a goddamn idiot. Enjoy!

Saturday, March 12th, 2011

Quick fix for a nowhere-near-showstopping bug in TurnsTile's auto-calculated tile sizes. Get version 0.2.1 if you're interested.

Thursday, March 10th, 2011

TurnsTile 0.2.0 is out, only a couple of new features, but lots of fun to play with nonetheless!

SimpleSlugUpscale v1.10! Details in the docs, download and enjoy.
